Blaugust Day 30 – A bunch of unaccomplished plans

Well, this weekend has proven to be my nemesis in getting anything done. I had all kinds of grand plans – Play some FFXIV, create a character in Champions Online, continue my work towards building a bridge in Wurm Online – but the only thing I was able to do was fall down in rank from Bronze I back to Bronze II in League of Legends. Actually, I didn’t have much time to play any games this weekend, but I did play a few ranked league games. In each one, I not only had the pleasure of suffering from the high lag of the Chitown server move, but I landed me an AFK. 4 games in a row, spread out from Friday to today – high lag and an AFK…and I fell back to Bronze II. Oh well, I know I can make it back up, it is just a frustrating game sometimes. Oh well, try to run back up the ladder…

I also had plans out of gaming that were thwarted by this weekend. I wanted to get thru another few Ultron comics, but only was able to finish the one I started on Friday. For my Comic Book Reading Group, we are going through Wicked and Divine this month and I have read the first 4 of the series, but still have to finish the last one in the first story arc. If you get a chance, W&D is pretty good.

Finally, I didn’t get out of the house to see about getting a updated laptop. I suppose internet shopping is better, but sometimes I like to get my hands on something even if I eventually buy it online. I know I want something with at least 16gb of memory as my current machine has that much and it allows me to play games and compile code at nice speeds – I also like having lotsa windows open. Since I haven’t looked in a while, I gotta figure out what the current graphics cards are for laptops and what the cpus are running like. I hate buying a new machine – too much research. That’s the main reason I started buying laptops rather than desktops – I hate having the ability to upgrade the parts cuz then I am always looking for upgrades. With a laptop, I pretty much buy it and forget about specifications until the next time I need to buy one.

In any case, I did get out to the bay this weekend for a nice walk. It was hot in the house, but the bay had a really cool breeze and it was fun to watch the windsurfers flying across the water and the dogs running around. Pretty nice weekend though I didn’t get many of my plans accomplished.
