Anticipated Movies and Tanking Anxiety

Daily Ramble 177: Anticipated Movies and Tanking Anxiety

Today’s ramble takes a look at a trio of videos focusing on a book, a sequel, and added game content and beyond that I start thinking about potentially changing my main in Neverwinter Online since I an worried about the responsibilities of tanking.

Ready Player One

I just finished this book in time for the movie to come out. While I’m probably gonna be waiting to see it, I didn’t want to head into the opening weekend without knowing what the story was all about.

In any case, this was a great book. I really enjoyed it and read through it in less than 2 days. And from what I read, I can easily see how this would work as a movie in today’s nostalgia driven, computer graphics laden productions.

I’m looking forward to it.

Pacific Rim 2

Another film I’m looking forward to is Pacific Rim 2. Mrs. Redshirt and I really enjoyed the first installment of this series and I’m glad after all this time they’ve been able to put together a second. I don’t necessarily expect it to be as good as the first since that was a pretty groundbreaking story for today’s audiences, but I hope it holds up.

Neverwinter Online – Lost City of Omu

The last of the trio of videos today features Neverwinter Online. This game just released a bit of an expansion with some new content including the Lost City of Omu. Trying to capitalize on the recent dinosaur themes there are a bunch of T. Rex in the adventure and it looks like even a Beholder shows up as one of the bosses. I can’t wait till I get to that point in the game.

As things stand, I’ve become pretty determined to make NWO the next game where I reach max level and from what I can see, it’s straightforward to accomplish. I do worry that I’m playing a tank right now though. While I don’t have much of a fear of taking on the responsibility of being a group’s healer, I do worry that the role of tank is relied upon to know what happens in the dungeons…and I see that as requiring a lot of learning outside the game…time I don’t necessarily have.
