Watching Television the First Week of May 2018

This week I actually kept myself limited to shows I knew I’d enjoy or thought would be entertaining. Keeping things limited makes it easy to recommend shows I watched but then it doesn’t open me up to new things or allow me to give much of a chance to things on the bubble. Perhaps next week I’ll make the effort to expand what I’m watching.

Favorites from the Week ending May 5th

  • Westworld season 2, episode 2 – Reunion. So the robots have been out to the real world before. This episode continues to build up the mystery of the season and we see that not all the hosts are on the same side with the same goals. I’m not sure if I’m more on the side of Dolores or Maeve.
  • The Americans season 6, episode 6 – Rififi. Things are definitely ramping up in the final season of the show. I’m not sure what’s gonna happen first – is Stan gonna figure out that they’re spies, or is Paige gonna have to kill or be killed. They’ve turned things up to 11 this season for sure.
  • The Terror season 1, episode 7 – Horrible From Supper. With the crew of the ships trekking across the barren wasteland of Canada this show is just getting better and better. I’ve really enjoyed the acting and the suspense. Sure, it’s easy to look up what happened to the actual ship and crew but this is definitely an entertaining retelling.
  • Killing Eve season 1, episode 4 – Sorry Baby. Wow! This was a brutal ending to a very suspenseful episode. I am fully on board for this series now and am enjoying every minute of it.
  • Trust season 1, episode 6 – John, Chapter 11. This show made it off the bubble with a really good episode this week. I am so happy they stopped having half the dialog in Italian.
  • Genius – Picasso season 2, episode 1 – Chapter One. I was surprised I enjoyed this when I gave up on the Einstein season. I’m glad I gave this one a chance.
  • Legion season 1 episode 8 – Chapter Eight. This season 1 finale was pretty good and sets things up for the second season. I was totally shocked with the resolution with the Shadow King and am looking forward to starting up season 2.

Other Shows That Were Enjoyable

  • Lucifer season 3, episode 22 – All Hands on Decker
  • James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction season 1, episode 1 – Aliens
  • The Men Who Bult America: Frontiersmen season 1, episode 3 – Live Free or Die
  • Elementary season 6, episode 1 – An Infinite Capacity for Taking Pains

On the Bubble

Actually this week I pretty much only watched shows I enjoyed which is good since I didn’t have much time to watch TV. I didn’t go to many of the streaming services which is where Lost in Space was but I figured I should stick with things I knew I’d like since I didn’t have as much time.
