The Baseball and The Button

Time Traveling and Home Runs

The game’s not over but I had to put in a ramble about how well Shohei Ohtani played against Kukuchi in his battle of Godzillas. As of now, the Angels lead 7-2 and I’m hoping they pull off the win but as the game continues I also read through another issue of Flash that continued Barry and Batman’s investigation into the button.

First Round to the Offense

While the game is only in the 5th inning, it’s over for Kikuchi. He didn’t fair too well in the Godzilla battle between he and Ohtani. Actually he pitched quite poorly giving up 6 earned runs in 3 1/3 innings and allowed home runs to La Stella, Trout, and Ohtani back-to-back-to-back in the 4th.

Shohei ended up going 2–3 against his fellow Japanese import and I for one am pleased to see the Angels winning the game handily. His home run was his 6th of the year and I’m hoping he’s starting to heat up now that he’s settled in after missing the first month of the season.

Following the Evidence

Flash #21 The Button: Part 2 by Joshua Williamson and Howard Porter.  Published by DC Comics, 2017.

This issue begins as Batman #21 ended, with Flash showing up at the bat cave too late to help Bruce as he was getting beat up by Reverse-Flash. Eobard was killed after the battle, though, by something related to the button Bruce and Barry discovered in Rebirth.

With evidence pointing to time travel and possibly the original Flashpoint, Barry heads to the Cosmic Treadmill to follow the trail but Batman isn’t gonna let him go alone. The two head into the time stream and run into a storm of trouble that results with the treadmill in pieces as they wind up back at the bat cave. This is not the one from the beginning of the issue though…this one belongs to Bruce Wayne’s father.

I’m enjoying this story and definitely give this issue a Must Read rating.

It’s a Wrap

In both these topics I’m eagerly awaiting resolution. I am surely hopeful the Angels win the game against Seattle and move closer to the 500 mark and while that will end soon I know I’ve got at least 2 more issues to read to see where Flash and Batman are headed. Both have been fun so far and I look forward to more excitement from each.
