Getting Stated in SWTOR

Daily Ramble 21: Getting Stated in SWTOR

I am so glad to have my major issues behind me in this game. The Pink Screen of Huh? is pretty much gone, though I’ve run into it on start up a couple times since my video driver update. I really wish I could figure out what is causing it. Regardless, after I kill the process in Task Manager and restart the game, it works fine. So now I get to play the game a bit…

Character Creation

As I mentioned, I wanted to create a new character and decided on a Jedi Guardian for my initial reacquaintance period, and as usual I went with a female. Also, since I am not currently a subscriber, I had a limited choice of races to play. This wasn’t an issue since I wanted to go with Human for my first trip back to the galaxy far, far away. With all my choices made, here is Melodi Miao…

She’s gonna kick some Sith butt and take some Sith names.

I was tempted to go with a Madalorian or at least a Bounty Hunter since the TV show and Disney+ is coming out Tuesday, but I figured there will most likely be a ton of young Bounty Hunters roaming the Empire/Republic/ or whatever it is considered in SWTOR. Actually, I should probably figure that kinda thing out since I’m looking to try to put together a bit of a visual narrative of my journey through the game. I’m sure it will be made obvious soon and probably will be related to which side of the Force your character is on – Empire for Dark/Imperial and Republic for Light/Republic.

In any case, I got up and running with Melodi and headed off to Tython to begin my journey to the Light Side. And with the opening title and scrawl I’m already loving this adventure…

  1. I hope you enjoy it!

TBh, the most fun I had in SWTOR in me recent time of trying it out again was a Sith Juggernaut (dps build, not tank though), which analogs over into the Jedi Guardian, so if you take that path, I think you won’t be disappointed.
