I Think I’ll Keep Playing the Second Change League

I’m really enjoying this round of Out of the Park Baseball 21. I’m glad I shut down the First Timer League when I ran into 2 starting pitcher injuries in 4 games and I’m happy to have adjusted the injury rate to something more reasonable.

Right now my Angels were heading into game 3 with a 2 – 0 record against the cheating Astros and I am feeling pretty good. So good about this new league, I might finally flesh out the ‘other’ blog I was gonna put together dealing with baseball.

Sure, MLB is not going on and all that can really be reported about the pros is that they are to greedy to give the fans baseball. I’m, not holding my breath which is why I started up my Second Chance League. And If I do things right, I can build up my ‘other’ blog during the SCL league and when MLB comes back I’ll have some experience and have figured out how I want to do things for the real season.

It’s a working plan at least, we’ll see.

In any case, here’s my take on my 3rd game in the Second Chance League.

Second Chance League Game 3

So far, my Angel team has been able to hold off the cheating Astros in the first two games of the season and I’m hoping to make it three in a row.

I’m actually thinking that I am gonna just provide some highlights for the game rather than mentioning every scoring event since I’m hoping to detail things in a different post…maybe even somewhere else. We’ll see how that goes, but for now, onto the highlights.

Game 3 features one of the new Angels free agent pickups this season, Julio Teheran. He faces off against Josh James in Houston and I’m nervous about this matchup. Houtson’s lineup is as usual, stacked, and somehow the Angels have held them in check the past 2 games.

Things start off well for the Angels when in the 2nd inning, Castro smacks a home run into left field. Houston quickly comes back int he bottom of the inning to tie it up though.

Things proceed in this back-and-forth fashion until in the 9th, where the score is 5–4 in favor of the Angels. Then the wheels came off for the pitchers of both teams and the score explodes to 9 – 7 with my Angels winning their 3rd in a row. Carlos Correa was the player of the game as the Astro went 3 for 3 with a home run and 4 RBIs, while for the Angels it was more of a team effort. Ohtani and Pujols each ended up with 2 RBIs and a home run while Trout hit a HR and drove in 3.

On the whole, it was an enjoyable game that got real exciting in the 9th with 7 runs scored between the two teams. I’m glad I’m learning to run my bullpen as I was able to put my closer in to finish the game with 2 outs in the 9th.
