Resting, Learning, and Ordering

Today was a day of resting, learning, and ordering. In LOTRO, I basically took the day off of adventuring and instead went crafting. In reading, I found that the story took a bit of a detour with a different viewpoint now that all our characters are scattered around. As for my running, I went ahead and ordered another new pair of shoes to compliment the ones I snatched yesterday.

A Day of Rest

With our traumatic experience fighting and killing Amdir yesterday, I felt today’s game session would be an excellent time to take things a bit easy. So I worked with Pangolyn to accomplish a bunch of tasks from the Bree listings, and then we headed to the crafting hall. I will say that I believe crafting takes way too long, but we pushed Prospecting, Forestry, and Tailoring all to the Journeyman level, so while it took an entire game session to get there, I feel like we made some accomplishments.

Different Perspectives

As we head into chapter 21 with our fellowship scattered to the four corners or as things go in The Wheel of Time…the eight corners of the world, we start seeing the story from different characters’ perspectives. First off is Nynaeve.

She managed to escape from the nightmare of Shadar Logath last chapter by stealth, but she’s all alone. But not for long as she tracks down Moiraine and Lan. They’ve lost the kids as well, but while the three begin trying to catch up to the boys, we learn about Nynaeve’s forestry skills and her ability to touch the One Power.

This is definitely a good chapter filled with lots of new information and revelations, so I’ll rate it a Read.

Another New Pair

Along with the ASICS I ordered yesterday, I also picked up a new pair of BROOKS ADRENALINE GTS 22’s. Once again, these are a more recent version of the GTS’s that I have been running in for the past year, so I feel they will work out well.

I always feel a bit strange ordering shoes online since they really are a product I think you need to feel comfortable with. Fortunately, the store I order from – RoadRunner Sports – has a very generous return policy, and since I am a V.I.P. I can test them out for 90 days. Of course, I run in them pretty much as soon as they arrive since I run every day, but it’s an excellent policy if I ever had to return or exchange something.

Anyway, these are made in Vietnam like the ASICS are, and while it’s not the USA, it’s not China either.

It’s a Wrap

It has been a slightly different type of day. I did not do a lot of adventuring during my gaming session and instead took a break for crafting. I also did not follow the standard point of view in The Eye of the World since our characters have all scattered about. I continued my running but didn’t write about where I ”virtually’ ran because I was more interested in the new shoes I ordered. I do feel like I got a bunch done today, though.

Overall, today was a good day, and I hope you all had an interesting and enjoyable day as well.
