Swept out of Texas

After feeling so optimistic about my Angels team and how well they were performing, I am really feeling low today after they were swept out of Texas.

The Rundown

First off, here are a few things of interest for today…

  • Divinity keeps on rolling

The second quarter of the contest between Divinity and Forza was an even larger victory for DOS2. The score now stands at 43 to 48 in favor of Divinity. With 2 quarters left, Forza better hope the dice fall more in its favor.
Later today, I plan on rolling out the 3rd quarter for these two and the second quarter for STO vs. BDO.

  • Action Comics #1

As I restarted my reading of the Marvel chronology the other day, I decided to also restart my reading of DC’s early years. That process, of course, begins with Action Comics #1 and Superman. While he’s not fighting gods or planet-destroying beasts, Superman is still impressive as he saves people from the death penalty and prevents thugs from harming Lois. It’s always fun to go back the the beginning and see how the Man of Steel first arrived.

  • Skin-Changer

I jumped into my journey to Mordor with Rambleclaw and immediately enjoyed the story. Radagast the Wizard is visiting the Vale, and while anytime he visits, it is a joyous occasion, this time, he brings dire news. A dark power is rising, sending forth its evil, and Radagast needs the help of the Beorning. Rambleclaw is selected to go out into the world to warn the Dwarves, Elves, and Men of Middle Earth against the evil that is coming. Hopefully, she is not too late.

The Goods

Rangers Sweep

It’s not like it’s the end of the world, but after a 24–13 start to the season, I was really starting to enjoy watching my Angels beat up on teams. They’ve played well and were winning the series which was a nice change of pace from the past few years.

Now, they leave Texas after losing 3 in a row to a team that is not in contention. They entered the series in first place in the AL West and now are looking up at the Houston Trashcans (Astros).

And I really believe they should have at least won 2 out of the 3 games.

The last game was a heartbreaker that they should have won in extra innings, at least. They pushed in the go-ahead run and had their closer on the mound in the 10th, and I don’t know how they lost.

It just seems like everything went against them in Texas this week.

I mean, sure, Mike Trout hit a couple of home runs, Jared Walsh hit some home runs, they scored first and seemed to be on their way to victory in 2 of the 3 games, but they just fell apart. They have some good starting pitching, they had some good relief pitching, it just was not their week for some reason.

Anyway, they have an off day today and come home for a weekend series against Oakland, and then Texas comes into town. Hopefully, things will turn around, and they can play to their actual ability against the A’s.

And then maybe they can turn the tables on Texas and sweep them in Anaheim.

It’s a Wrap

As I wind down my rambling today, I am glad that my Angels are not playing today. They could certainly use a day off after they got swept out of Texas. And the fact that their next game is at home will hopefully give them some extra oomph to pick up some wins again.

In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
