Rambleclaw to Mordor and Beyond

In an effort to build up momentum for my Gaming Madness tournament and the journey that the victor of that tournament is planning on taking, I am going to try to see how far I can get with a brand new Beorning in LOTRO. So I am planning on taking Rambleclaw to Mordor and Beyond

The Rundown

First off, here are a few things of interest for today…

  • Dropping Out

Yesterday I ranted about how Netflix seems to be canceling good shows all over the place. Today I praise Hulu for another good show that they produced…The Dropout. The story of Theranos and how Elizabeth Holmes conned so many prominent people into believing her lies was another success for Hulu in my book. I think it would be interesting to see a follow-up to show how her trial turned out and the results of Sunny’s trial, but we’ll have to wait until his is finally over. In any case, I am sure she will be punished for all the danger she subjected people to.

  • Second Straight Loss

I certainly hope this does not become a pattern, but my Angels dropped another game against a Texas team they should have easily defeated. We all knew the Angels needed pitching and these last 2 games have shown that while they spent a bunch on their bullpen, they may not have enough to carry them through the season. With the loss, they fell behind Houston, who, of course, won again. My team looks good, but they just need that final bit of pitching to get them over the hump to make them a good team.

  • Star Trek Online takes an early lead

Even though Star Trek Online entered the quarter with a 66 to 73 deficit in Metacritic score, they were able to coax the RNG gods to their benefit. They win the quarter with a 23 to 20 lead over Black Desert Online.

The Goods

Beorning my way to Mordor

Ok, so that is kinda corny, but I had to throw it out there since that’s really my plan. I would like to see if I can make it all the way to Mordor by the time I have a winner in my Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness tournament.
The way things are going, I think it will take me a while to get through all the matchups in my tournament, and considering I have just played out a few quarters of two contests, I think I can make a huge dent in moving to Mordor. I mean, I’ve only played 3 quarters, and there are at least 64 games to play, so I think I’ve got some time. And I feel pretty motivated to reach the pinnacle of LOTRO. I mean, with the new TV show coming out, I am rewatching the movies and am definitely excited to see the Hobbits, Gandalf, and the whole crew.

Thus far in LOTRO, the furthest I’ve advanced has been on my Legendary character, who is also a Beorning. I am drawn to the class since it can tank, heal, and do some decent damage. One thing that I realized off the bat in the normal server is that they do not allow an increase in landscape difficulty. That should make things a lot easier than how things were progressing on the Treebeard server, and coupled with the normal pace of leveling, I think I can make some good steps toward reaching Mordor.

Anyway, Pangolyn made it to level 28 and to the Lore-Tower, where she was enjoying herself earlier this year. I got distracted with many things and left her there, but I think I can advance Rambleclaw to Mordor and beyond in a couple of months.

We’ll see.

It’s a Wrap

As I wind down my rambling today, I am looking forward to getting Rambleclaw started on her journey. I think to start out, I’m gonna focus on trying to grab the Deeds rather than the Quests. I mean, I’ll certainly go through all the main story quests, but I think my main focus will be on Deeds this time around. By focusing on Deeds, perhaps I can skip over some of the quest lines that tend to be more about running around than about doing something enjoyable.

In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
