Picks for Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Shadows Division

The Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Shadows Division looks to be a pretty competitive one. Three MMOs based on classic and well-known IPs are here…Star Trek Online, Star Wars The Old Republic, and Lord of the Rings Online, and they are ready to duke it out. Not only do these three heavy hitters make an appearance in this bracket, but the current top-rated game in the wild is here as well – Elden Ring.

I envision a bloodbath in this Division.

Here’s what my initial picks are for this Division…

Now, my picks are just that, how I see things playing out. The real results will employ some randomness and ratings, some user scores, and some more randomness…along with some coin-flipping. While I pick the game I think will win or maybe the one I prefer will win, it remains for the RNG gods to determine who will actually escape each battle victorious.

In any case, I’m gonna go out on a limb and pick SWTOR to win the Division and reach the Final Four.

I’ve got STO, SWTOR, LOTRO, and Elden Ring all making it to the Sweet Sixteen, but like I said, this is gonna be a brutal Division, and I can see any of these making it to the Final Four.

The latest release, Elden Ring, seems to have had the smoothest release and race up the rating charts, but it’s also a Souls-type game which means it’s not going to be easy. LOTRO is one of my favorites and a game that I’m actually playing while the tournament is running – I’m hoping to push pretty far into Mordor by the time the tournament champion is selected.

SWTOR is always a game I go back to for the Star Wars feel. I really love how this game makes things seem so larger than life, but at the same time, the characters can influence galaxy-wide events. Finally, STO is always one of my go-to games, even though it’s not always the easiest to navigate. The Star Trek Universe has always been a huge part of my gaming life, and I could easily see Rambling Redshirt heading into Star Fleet after the tournament is completed.

Other games in this Division could surprise with some upsets (I mean I did not even give much respect to The Witcher 3, EverQuest, or Civ VI), but I feel pretty good that any of these four could win, and any of these four could be the final champion of the tournament.
