Picks for Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Dark Division

The Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Dark Division has some pretty strong and diverse contenders. It’s the only Division with a racing game and a number of MMOs (including the first MMO I played). It holds games from 1999 and some that have been updated as recently as this year. The Division also features an exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which has been one of the highest-rated games for that platform since it came out.

So let’s see what my initial picks are for how I see the bracket turning out…

Now, my picks are just that, how I see things playing out. The real results will employ some randomness and ratings, some user scores, and some more randomness…along with some coin-flipping. While I pick the game I think will win or maybe the one I prefer will win, it remains for the RNG gods to determine who will actually escape each battle victorious.

In any case, I’m picking Zelda to win the Division and reach the Final Four.

I’m sure there will be some intense matches along the way because we’ve got ESO and Dark Souls 2 in this bracket, and I would not count out Planescape Torment or Red Dead Redemption 2 since those are games. I really would like to finish…I’d love to even get a quarter of the way into those games.

As things stand, I’ve probably played the most WURM in this Division, and I hate the fact that I see City of Heroes up against ESO in the first round because I really love CoH. I foresee that contest being a heartbreaker since I really like both games and would enjoy reaching the end game in either.

On the whole, though, I think Zelda would be a strong entrant into the Final Four from the Dark Division. We’ll see how things play out when matches start to be determined.
