Homestand Graveyard

Daily Ramble 213: Homestand Graveyard

Even though my Angels lost I had a better time of things gaming. I actually got my Neverwinter account to fully active state by finishing off the Neverdeath Graveyard campaign. The quests weren’t difficult particularly considering I’m level 64 and the quest levels are 30 at the highest, but they were fun.

Finished Neverdeath Graveyard

After yesterday’s problems I had with the various MOBAs I play, I decided to make some progress in Neverwinter today. I only had “one” quest left in finalizing the Neverdeath questline and marking my account as fully featured. Once again though, there was. To clear path to the quest.

Wandering around the quest hub, I talked to everyone available and finally found a quest. Of course it wasn’t the one I needed but I figured it would lead to the Clockwork Tomb quest I needed. It was actually 2 steps away from the final quest but I kept going. For my two cents, I don’t like this method of quest giving. Call me spoiled but I like being able to recognize who has quests for me and I hate having to search for them. I suppose I am not the type of person who gets a thrill at finding a questgiver, I’d rather just get the quest and move on to working on the actual task.

Regardless I got the quest and headed to the tomb. It actually played like a single player dungeon and it was pretty cool. There were levers to pull and a riddle to solve and plenty of miscellaneous trash mobs. Actually, I suppose it I was running through the quest at the actual level it was designed for, it would have been much more challenging, but I never had anything to fear from any of the bad guys. Not even the boss, Shoth the Tomb Queen was a difficult encounter.

Homestand Blues

After a great road trip to Kansas City and Texas, hopes were high that the Angels would come home and put up some good number against some tough competition. Instead, they pretty much floundered. Losing 3 in a row to Boston and 2 outta 3 to The Giants was definitely not in the plans. A 1–5 home stand was the last thing I expected.

Sadly, that’s exactly what we got. The offense looked bad. The pitching looked bad. Even the defense was not top notch like we’ve come to expect. Everything looked bad. This is a good team though so I expect they’ll turn things back on. Hopefully they do it soon as they head to Houston to face the division leading Astros today.

While the team lost the finale of the series with the Giants, there were a couple signs they might be turning things around. Ian Kinsler had a good game going 2 for 5 but I couldn’t give him my Player of the Game because he choked in the 9th and made the last out of the game. Mike Trout in the other hand, only put up one hit, but it was the one that mattered for the scoreboard. He hit his major league leading 9th home run of the year in the 8th inning. For the series, Trout hit 3 home runs and batted over .500. So, just like yesterday, Mike Trout is my Player of th Game.
