A Winning Day

Daily Ramble 190: A Winning Day

A lot of winning today as my Angels pickup their first win of the 2018 season and Eve Online wins the voting for the MMO Book Club Game of the Month for April. I’m definitely excited for the Angel win but I’m also please with Eve Online being the GotM. I’m actually looking forward to trying out the new character experience since it’s been a while.

Angels Notch Up Win Number 1

Well, it was a close game and the Athletics had the winning run on base in the 9th, but my Angels managed to pull off their first win of the season 2–1. Mike Trout provided all the runs as he hit a Home Run in the first and scored on an Upton single in the 9th to provide the insurance they needed for the win. The game though belonged to Tyler Skaggs who threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings, scattering 3 hits and striking out 5. He had ample help from the defense with a diving catch by Calhoun in right and a great pickoff at first by catcher, Martin Maldonado.

But I still give Skaggs my player of the game. Picking up the win after a hard fought opening day loss was great and I hope this spurs the team forward into a winning season.

Eve Online wins the GotM Voting

The voting is over and the game selection for the MMO Book Club’s April Game of the Month is…Eve Online. I feel this is an interesting pick since I’m used to the “end game” of Eve out in Null Sec so I’m not too familiar with what fun can be had with brand new characters. Nor free to play Alpha clones. Regardless, I intend to have some fun.

While I pulled my main outta mothballs earlier in March to get reacquainted with things out in the “danger zone”, I didn’t resubscribe any of my other accounts. With the MMO Book Club headed there though, I suppose I’ll take a look at other characters I’ve got. I think I might even have an open slot to roll fresh to check out the new character experience.

I’m worried about the club bringing in a bunch of hi sec warriors since from what I recall, there’s not a whole lot of content that isn’t focused on PvP and while noobs can participate in the large scale battles, it’s usually better if they’ve got some veterans helping out.
