First Look at the Thursday Schedule at #SDCC2018

Usually I like to take a quick look at the daily schedules for Comic-Con as they come out. I can’t really set up major plans until I get the whole schedule but each day has so many things I’d like to see it’s always good to have an idea of what I’m dealing with.

Everyone attending should review the schedule ahead of time too. Here’s my first thoughts on what I see in the Thursday Schedule.

8 Days to #SDCC2018

While the big hitters, as usual, are in Hall H, there’s plenty in the smaller rooms to see.

+Hall H has the following panels that I’m interested in: The Predator, Dr. Who, Marvel Games, Dragon Ball Super, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and Assassination Nation. Yup, that’s all 7 panels in Hall H for Thursday and I wouldn’t mind seeing any of them. It could be an interesting day with opportunities to get into the room for a change since I am not sure of the overlapping fanbase for Doctor Who and Marvel Games or Dragon Ball and Better Call Saul.
+Ballroom 20 also has a bunch of prime panels: From the Bridge, Charmed, Tell me a Story, A Discovery of Witches, Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits and Monsters, Pokemon Go, SyFy The Great Debate, and Marvel’s Iron Fist. I’m personally not as enamored with the panels here but the Misfits and Monsters panel looks like it could be cool. I’m actually looking forward to seeing what this show is all about.
+Ballroom 6A might be the place I gravitate to on Thursday. It has the following panels that I think might be pretty interesting: 2001: Space Odyssey 50th Anniversary Panel, TMNT Reboot, Robert Kirkman, Magnum P.I., and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. I’m skeptical about the Magnum P.I. reboot since I am not a fan of the Hawaii 5-O or MacGyver reboots and I really don’t see how anyone could take the place of Tom Selleck or John Hillerman.

Beyond those 3 rooms where I could easily find myself sitting through multiple panels in a row, other rooms have some interesting presentations.

  • Westworld: Further Beyond Frontier Law is in Room 5AB.
  • Blade Runner: Reveleations: Storytelling in VR is in 6BCF.
  • Popular Science: Beyond Entertainment is in 6DE.
  • VIZ Media Panel is in 7AB.

Finally, there are tons of panels that could very well be interesting and worth attending. That’s really one of the nice things about Comic-Con – even if you don’t get into the panels you want to see there certainly will be a panel going on at the same time that has some really cool stuff.
