One Bad Inning

It only took a 7 run first inning by the Mariners to stop the Angels’ win streak and prevent a sweep. Needless to say, Felix Pena who gave up those 7 runs in 1/3 of an inning will not be getting my Player of the Game.

The Comeback Falls Short

In any case, the Angels had a huge job ahead of them trying to come back from such a huge deficit and they almost did it. David Fletcher went 2 for 5 and Justin Upton went 3 for 5 in the effort but the team still ended up 3 for 10 with runners in scoring position. Leaving 9 runners on base is typical of how the team was playing before this recent win streak but at least it indicated that they had chances to catch up in this game.

With a home run and 3 RBIs, Upton wins my Player of The Game but it was sad to see the team fall short. I had really been enjoying to fun atmosphere around the team with the streak so I hope they jump back on the winning train once they get to Florida to take on the Rays today.
