More than One Inning

There’s not much to say good about this game except the Angels didn’t have one horrible inning. Instead they let the Rays score over a few innings. Regardless, the result was the same and the team fell back below .500 again. At this point I fear they’re gonna stay there.

Nobody Played Particularly Well

Nick Tropeano gave up 4 runs over 5 2/3 innings for the loss and he didn’t look like he had much control since he gave up 4 walks. But the offense didn’t offer him much support in any case. Simmons went 2 for 3 and had what seemed to be a decent game picking up an RBI.

My Player of the Game goes to Kole Calhoun though who went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He had a good game but couldn’t carry the team.

These dog days of summer are gonna be rough if the team keeps playing like this. At least last season they made a push for the post season all the way into late September. If they’re playing this badly now I can only imaging this’ll be a long couple of months wondering about what coulda been.
