#BlaugustReborn Day 4

Daily Ramble 7:#BlaugustReborn Day 4, A Look at Gaming Goals for #Blaugust

It’s good to see so many of the people participating in #BlaugustReborn planning out their game play during the month. Since this is the first Saturday of the month, I figure I’ll throw my gaming goals out there as well. As I look back at July as see that I didn’t post any gaming goals for the month I now recognize why I kinda wandered aimlessly from game to game, not really focused on what I was doing. Sure July was Comic-Con month but I could have saved myself a lot of random wandering if I had just set out a course to follow for the month, no matter how sparse. In any case I gotta plan for August because otherwise WoW will consume all my time.

Gaming Goals for August…

With the MMO Book Club invading World of Warcraft this month of course I’ll have to jump on board but I’m also looking to head back into Secret World Legends. But even with those two huge games I still want to dip my toe back into LOTRO and figure out a single player game to audition.

Battle For Azeroth

I never really got into Warlords or Legion but I’m a bit excited to see what shows up in BfA. I’m not really sure why since I know next to nothing about the expansion but I think it may come down to the fact that there are a few new races I can try out. My main goal for the month then is to unlock the main race I’m interested in…the Highmountain Tauren. Ever since Druid became my main class, I’ve been playing the cows and I’m not gonna stop now. I want to try out one of the new ones and carry it all the way to max level…but I don’t think that will all happen in August.

Missioning in Secret World Legends

The beginning of July saw me continuing my leveling in SWL and dancing around in the Anniversary event and it was a lot of fun. I think I managed to get up to level 39 and get most of the way through Blue Mountain and I’m really excited to see what happens after I get out of New England and on to the larger world. My goal here is to finish up the zone and possibly get up to level 44. I figure 5 levels for the month should be doable.

Revisiting my Warden in LOTRO

It’s been a few months since I jumped into LOTRO and I think I’m gonna head back to my Warden to see how much I’ve forgotten about her play style. With the variety of gambits she uses, I’m sure I will need to reread all the tooltips and ability descriptions to figure out how I need to play again but that’ll be fun.

Single Player Experience

Finally, I want to see about a single player game to play. It’s been a while and I know I’ve got a few that I never finished…someday…but I really want to get rolling in a single player game to see what all the hype is about. For this, I think I’m gonna try out The Witcher 3. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this game and it doesn’t seem to be as difficult as Dark Souls so I should be able to play a bit of it to get a feel. If I enjoy my time, I’ll plan on trying to complete the game but if you’ve followed most games I’ve played, I don’t have a very good track record on finishing games (I did get through Destiny 2 though and that was recently so I’ve got that going for me – I also maxed out on Neverwinter Online but that’s an MMO so it doesn’t count for this). In any case, I’m gonna give this game a try and I’d like to get through any tutorial it may have and see about putting a dent in the leveling process. Hmm…I don’t even know how many levels I can achieve in the game yet so I can only put a vague goal out there right now. I’m looking forward to giving this a try though.
