Quick Rundown on Day 170 of the Season

I didn’t have much time to put things together today but Saturday’s games were kinda crazy.

The Dodgers scored 17 run on their way to taking over 1st place in the NL West and knocking St. Louis out of their wildcard spot. Yasiel Puig hit 3 homers to make it 5 in 2 games. His 7 RBIs coupled with Cody Bellinger’s 6 RBIs easily crushed the Cardinals.

San Francisco didn’t do much on offense but they had the best pitching performance of the day as they took down the Rockies 3–0 behind 6 shutout innings from Madison Bumgarner.

In the AL West, Houston put on a show against Arizona and plated 10 runs to gain a game against Oakland who lost to Tampa Bay.

Seattle is clinging onto hope for a playoff spot by coming back from a 4 run deficit and beating the Angels 6–5 in a game I actually got to attend. Finally, Texas beat up on the Padres 6–3.

Player of the Day: Yasiel Puig, LAD – 3–6, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 3 R
Pitcher of the Day: Madison Bumgarner, SF – 6 INN, 0 ER, 5H, 2 K
