Necromancy Runs in the Family

Daily Ramble 38: Boundless, Necromancy and Running

Now we’re getting into the meat of things as Sam goes on a mission to find his uncle to get his magical binding removed. We do find Nick, but we do get to visit Sam’s father’s new wife. Apparently after he divorced Sam’s mom, he started another family and never told them about Sam – what a great guy this dad is. Regardless, Sam also meets his step sisters and learns that the Necromancer trait is strong in the family.

While Sam’s on his quest, we’re introduced to Brid who’s a were-hound who’s been captured by some freak who’s performing experiments on her. She can’t escape or turn into a werewolf because of the special cage she’s in so she’s hiding her time and waiting to strike. I figured she was introduced to the story because she has some impact on Sam and how he’s gonna resolve his Necromancer thing and…sure enough, he’s soon captured and thrown in the cage with her.
Unfortunately, that’s where I had to stop today. I’m really enjoying things and know this is leading up to a fun conclusion. Maybe I’ll make it there tomorrow. Oh…I also found that there’s another book in the series so I might put that on my list for next month.

Boundless Looks Cool

I guess from looking at this trailer, the game came out in September but I just heard about it from a podcast I listen to. From the sound of things it kinda like an updated Minecraft where the different worlds are connected through various portals. How cool is that? You can bounce from one world to another and see how others have set up their houses, cities, and playthings. It also looks like there’s some form of combat.

While the trailer shows the PS4 version it’s my understanding that not only can you play in different worlds with people all over the world, you can also play with players on the PC as well. I’m not sure if I’m gonna get this on the console or the PC but it sure looks like something that could be a lot of fun.

Running Again

I’m finally back to running. I took a few weeks off because I was experiencing some tightness in my calf muscle but it’s quieted down and I’m antsy to get out there again. It certainly feels good to get my gear on in the morning and get a mile or so in. I’m still taking things slow and haven’t planned any long term goals but I’m getting started and it feels good.
