Chronicles and Immortality

A Look At The Rook and Immortal Hulk

I knew reading The Rook was gonna be fun and I’m glad I enjoyed my chronicling experiment. I think it’s something I’ll continue at this point since I felt it let me dig into the story a bit more and share my thoughts on such an enjoyable read.

Another enjoyable read was Immortal Hulk #4. So far this whole series has been good and from what I saw this morning, the quality continues since the title was nominated for an Eisner Award this year. Perhaps if things work right and I enjoy it enough maybe I’ll try a chronicle of this title in the future too.

Chronicling The Rook

Looking back on my chronicle today, I had a pretty good time reading and jotting down my comments. It certainly helps that The Rook is a book that has a lot going on right at the outset and one where the complexity builds upon itself page by page. I can see how even in this first chapter it’ll be a story that will translate to television pretty easily and hopefully the writers, director, and cast will be able to bring it justice on the small screen.

I welcome anyone to read The Rook and if you feel like following along with me as I read and comment, you can find my chronicles here….

A College Buddy

Immortal Hulk #4, Time of Death by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett, and Ruby Jose. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018.
As in the last issue, Point of View Banner is roaming around in South Dakota again in this issue. But this time we seem to be a bit more focused on another gamma powered hero. One who spends a lot of time north of the border…Walter Langkowski, a.k.a. Sasquatch. I didn’t know much about this guy but apparently he went to college with Bruce and became obsessed with the Hulk once he realized what Banner did.

It was a good Read and I’m glad to know more about this member of Alpha Flight.

It’s a Wrap

A busy day that started with admiration for Justin Upton’s return and the Angels game yesterday. It moved into the chronicling of The Rook and looking at the upcoming Comic-Con and I felt things went really well. Then I took a look at the new weekly releases from DC Universe as I ran through chapter one of The Rook. Finally I read through and recommend the Immortal Hulk as a continuing read.

It was a busy and full day but I feel pretty good about everything and I’m hoping to add back in some gaming as things move along.
