Marvel Unlimited New Weekly Releases October 7, 2019

Marvel releases comics to the Unlimited platform about 6 months after they come out in floppy format so this week we are seeing comics from April 3, 2019. In an effort to try to read some more “modern” issues, I’ve been tracking what’s currently being released and trying to catch up from recent number ones…we’ll see how that goes.

Here’s the new stuff I’ve found this week that were released in March 2019:

Top Releases of the Week

17 new comics released today (last week had 21).  Anyway, looking at Comic Book Roundup which aggregates a bunch of review sites, here are the top issues from this batch of comics. This week I see that 3 issues attained the 8.5 rating or above with more than 2 reviews.

  • Deadpool #11
by Scottie Young and Scott Hepburn.
Deadpool has no bones? This sounds kinda messed up.
  • Immortal Hulk #16
by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett.
Rick Jones is dead and Bruce wants to know why…Is Hulk even interested in what happened to his old friend?
  • War of the Realms #1
by Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman.
Malekith has taken down all the realms but Midgard so we expect some serious fighting on Earth as the invasion begins in New York City.

Number Ones

There are 3 NUMBER ONEs this week so there’s plenty of places to start out a new series.

  • War of the Realms #1
by Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman.
The event of 2019 (#1-#6) begins with this issue as Black Panther, Jane Foster, Doctor Strange and more try to stop Malekith from destroying Midgard as Thor is not around to help.
  • Marvel Team-Up #1
by Eve Ewing and Joey Vazquez.
Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel team up for a cool adventure
  • Major X #1
    by Rob Liefeld.
Is Major X hunting for the X-Men or just looking for fellow mutants? Either way, it seems Cable is gonna try to stop him.
  • Marvel Super Heroes Adventures: Spider-Man – Web Designers #1
    by various writers and artists.
Spider-Man and his buddies tackle a few adventurous tales in this issue produced by creators such as Scottie Young, Ty Templeton, and Jim Campbell.

Jumping on Points

While there are 3 NUMBER ONEs this week there are even more places to jump into a series and this title is a bit more fleshed out than the #1s. If you get a chance you really should be reading Immortal Hulk.

  • Immortal Hulk #16
by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett.
Immortal Hulk volume 4 – Abomination kicks off a 5 issue run (#16-#20) with this issue that sees Banner searching for info on his long lost friend, Rick Jones.
