Pink Screen of huh?

Ramble #14: Pink Screen of huh?

Well I’m not really sure if I’ll ever get into SWTOR during my 5+1 challenge but I gave it another shot today and read on to see how well that turned out. If you want a bit of foreshadowing, I played LOTRO and read through a Darth Maul comic that expanded on his hatred of the Jedi…it was a good read.

The Pink Screen of huh???

Hmm…I’m not really sure that fate wants me to be playing SWTOR. At least not right now. First it was the patching. Now it’s some kind of pink screen that I can’t get out of. And I have no idea how I got here other than by firing up the game. Oh well, I guess that’s strike two for SWTOR and I’ll move on to something else to occupy my time. I just hope I get things working in the game soon so I don’t have to make a different selection for my 5+1 challenge.

Star Wars: Age of Republic: Darth Maul #1

Ash by Jody Houser, Luke Ross, Javier Tartaglia, and Paulo Rivera.  Published by Marvel Comics, 2018.  Darth Maul got a taste of Jedi blood in the 5 issue series I read a while ago.  But even killing the padawan in that title was not enough to sate Maul’s bloodlust.  On Corusant, though, he has to be careful with Jedi Knights and his Master, Darth Sideous, seemingly everywhere.  So while Maul works to build up his underworld connections he also seeks out untrained Force sensitives to unleash his anger on.  Like the previous series, I enjoyed this issue since it provided  some good background information on a really cool Star Wars character.  I rate this a Read for anyone who enjoys Star Wars.

Creation Decisions

Ok, so SWTOR was another fail today but I wanted to at least get a character created for one of my 5+1 games so I went with LOTRO. I decided I was gonna start up some new alts so I could get the feel for the game before jumping into higher level characters I might have. I really don’t have any character in pretty much any game that is very high level, but I still didn’t want to get overwhelmed by skills and abilities.

With that in mind I decided to create a new Warden on Landroval which is the main server of a guild I’m associated with. I wanted a Warden because I enjoyed their play style and complexity and I didn’t have one on a non-legendary server. I’m sure I’ll get back to my Legendary server Warden during this 5+1 challenge but today I wanted to make a new baby Warden.

My first thought was to try out a Dwarf because I don’t have one of those so far. And following my typical creation process, I wanted a female…hmm…female dwarf? Well, it turns out one of the latest patches or expansions or whatever added a sub race of Dwarves that allow females. The great part of it…they look just like the males.

Anyway, since I saw that Dwarves can be Rune Keepers I figured I’d hold off on my mustachioed female Dwarf until I was ready to jump back to the Legendary server since I already had a Rune Keeper on Landroval.

The bottom line is I have a new Human Female Warden named Torreybel and she is anxious to get into Middle Earth.

It’s a Wrap

Another day, another fight with SWTOR to get started. One day soon, I’ll create my Jedi Guardian and get rolling in that game but for now I keep getting thwarted at each attempt. Regardless, I was able to get started in LOTRO easily enough and I created a new Human Warden ready to help take down Sauron and ride Middle Earth of evil. To get my fix of Star Wars though, I jumped back into comics and reacquainted myself with Darth Maul and enjoyed learning more about his anger and the pain that drives him to his hatred of Jedi. On the whole, I think things worked out well.
