Gaming Plans for May (Part 2)

Yesterday I covered my gaming plans for May in so far as the MMOs I’m interested in playing. Today I take a look at the single-player games I’m gonna try to get into during the month.

Single Player Games

One thing I’ve really been missing because of this pandemic has been baseball. Right now I would be looking forward to heading up to Anaheim on Monday to go to the May 4th game. I was gonna take my parents to the Star Wars day game since they were gonna give out special bobbleheads. Oh well, there is not baseball in this stay-at-home world but I can still play some baseball. I’m gonna grab Out of the Park Baseball 21 and see about getting into a season this month.

Another game I missed recently was Nioh. I had planned to play Nioh during my last 5+1 round but I co-opted the monitor I use for my PS4 as a scorned monitor for my work laptop. This work-at-home thing has its draw backs so I haven’t been playing my PlayStation since this all started. This time around I think I’m gonna try out the PC version of the game so I’ll be running this time from scratch.

Succession Game

The other single player game I play on playing this month is Civilzation VI. I’m not gonna be playing solo though…I’m part of the Blapril blogger succession game. Actually, I’m due to play and publish my 10 turn round right now but this weekend’s been pretty crazy. I’ll be getting the next 10 turns of Queen Victoria’s reign taken care of tomorrow and it looks like it’ll be exciting since I’ve got to decide where to move our settler for our third city.

League of Frustration

One game I’m leaving behind again is League of Legends. After playing slightly better than 53% to make Silver, Riot has thrown the meta to the tanks once again. Basically if you do not play a tank there is no point to playing the game anymore.
I have seen my 66% Zyra win rate in over 100 games drop down to a 55% win rate in the past week as tanks are the only viable selection now. There is absolutely no way I can take down the levels of HP and resistances that are everywhere in ranked play right now.
I’ve tried swapping to other champs – Brand, Morgana, and even tried out some mid-lane with Malzahar and Veigar and none of it seems to make a dent in the current tank meta.
Of course it doesn’t help that 2 outta 3 games ends up with a troll or AFK on my team.
Anyway, I’m done with this frustration for now and am gonna take the month off from this game.

It’s a Wrap

Tomorrow I’ll finally be able to take my turn in the Civilization VI Succession game and get things rolling over there again. Sorry to everyone involved but I wasn’t able to get things going this weekend – too much going on even when we’re technically on lockdown still. Regardless, I’ll finish off my turn and publish my 10 so that the next leader in line can take over.

So far I’ve enjoyed reading what people have done and the choice they’ve made and I hope you all are ok with the direction I’ve moved in.

  1. Not a worry at all on the delay (really, it hasn’t even been that long) — just wanted to make sure you’d seen it rather than trying to push for a rapid completion!

Having said that… I am very much looking forward to seeing your play and where we land with the third city! 😀
