Gaming Plans for May (Part 1)

I don’t do this every month but with the pandemic, China Flu, Wuhan Virus, COVID-19 keeping me at home all the time I think it’s a good idea to try to set some goals for my recreation over the month.

Work/Life Balance

I’ve noticed that when I work from home I have a tendency to put in longer hours and focus more of my energy on work. I “get in” to work earlier since I don’t have to drive. I don’t take a lunch since I just walk to the kitchen to grab some food. I stay “working” longer since I’m right there in my office rather than at my workplace.

I don’t even take my normal breaks. I don’t get up to go for walks nearly as much – I used to take walk breaks 2–3 times a day to get over 10,000 steps, and now I’m hardly ever reaching that goal even when I run for 30 minutes every morning. I don’t take social breaks to chat with co-workers about the latest TV shows or such. and I don’t take time outta the day to play ping pong with my work buddies.

I think it adds up to a potential imbalance of my work/life schedule and I think I need to set some gaming goals for myself to prevent those issues.

MMOs

With the idea of planning out a few goals for my gaming in May I first look at the MMOs I’m interested in.

I just started World of Warcraft again because of the pandemic and my baby Druid is sitting at level 6. I would like to spend some time leveling her up to at least the 30s if no higher. It’s been a while since I’ve focused on leveling in WoW so I’m not familiar with the speed so I may push higher if things come easily.

Next, I look at Lord of the Rings Online and see that my Warden has been sitting at level 9 for way too long. Last time I was in the game I started my journey from Ered Luin back to Bree so I could start pushing forward in the main story again but I’ve been finishing off the quests I still had in The Shire and such before advancing. I think I’ve got another few quests to finish and I’ll be turning off my Tortise Stone and getting back to the story and if I have the opportunity I’d like to get through all the Bree quests in May.

Finally, I started up a new character in Secret World Legends during my last 5+1 gaming session and I’d like to advance her through Kingsmouth if I have the time. She just started out so I haven’t progressed her too far and I’m still trying to figure out what weapons I want her to specialize in. I’ll make that decision and get her rolling soon.

It’s a Wrap

Tomorrow I’ll take a look at the single player games I’m gonna try to get into during May and one single player game I’m playing with a bunch of fellow Blapril bloggers.
