November 2018 Gaming Plans

As usual, I’m getting a bit of a late start to my planning for the month but it’s kinda a good thing this time around since I had not heard of the dates for the LOTRO Legendary server until a few days before it or rather they opened up. With those servers coming up Thursday, November 8th, I’m glad I waited for planning so I could look towards rolling a character or two on those servers. So that’s one focus I have this month and while LOTRO came back into my attention, other games were thrust upon me that I hadn’t paid much attention to in the past, namely MapleStory 2. The MMO Book Club headed into this game for the month of November so I figured I’d give it a try. This month also features the end of the season in League of Legends and I wanted to give one last push to see what rank I would end the season at. Finally, I was felling something missing during October and I realized what it was…I hadn’t been playing Secret World Legends lately, and that was even with Halloween and all. I’ll have to get back there to see what’s up and start making my journey into the lands beyond Solomon Island.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot – Red Dead Redemption 2 just came out and I know I’m gonna want to dip my toe into that stream during November.

I guess I didn’t even plan anything in October so here’s my plans from September and my review. I actually felt pretty good after accomplishing quite a few of my goals.

November 2018 Gaming Plans

Since I’m putting together these plans after the first week of November has passed I already have started marching towards completing them. With that in mind, here is a look at the games I’m planning on tackling in November 2018:

  • LOTRO Legendary Server – Anor and Ithil opened up on the 8th and while I didn’t get into either on Thursday I did get into Anor on Friday and Ithil on Saturday. There were actual queues to get into a LOTRO server this past week – wow! On Anor, I started up a Human Warden in the vein of my previous two characters that I was enjoying when other things came up. On Ithil I decided I wanted to go in the healing direction so I started up a Half Elf Minstrel. I think I’m gonna enjoy these servers since they’re already showing tons of life and I get the chance to progress as they move through the journey to Mordor and beyond. As this is just getting rolling I think I’ll just shoot to get both characters up to level 15, 20 could be a stretch but I want to be reasonable.

  • MapleStory 2 – The MMO Book Club is headed into MapleStory 2 and I still haven’t figured out if the game is MapleStory or Maple Story with a space in the middle – I’ve actually seen both on the developer’s website so I have no problem switching between the two. This game looks pretty cool with light hearted, ‘cute’ graphics and a 3D isometric perspective that can take a bit of getting used to. Leveling is supposed to be pretty easy but I’m torn among various classes…so I’m gonna roll a Priest and a Wizard with a glance at an Assassin. I would like to get at least my Priest and Wizard up to level 20 this month but with all the holidays, who knows.

  • Secret World Legends – I really miss not playing SWL last month but after finishing off the Dawning of an Endless Night quest line I felt I needed a bit of a break. That was the furthest I’ve gote in the game (or in The Secret World) and I wanted to savor it. Now it’s time to get back to work but I’m not gonna overdo it, or set too much of a goal since this is a pretty busy month. I’m just gonna look forward to figuring out what the next big quest line is and move on to the next region. Not to much of a plan but I want to make sure I keep this game moving along.

  • League of Legends – Season 8 is coming to a close on November 12th so I figure I’d get in and give this game a final push for the season. I start out the month in Silver 5 which is the highest I’ve ended a season so far but I’d like to see if I can push it. I doubt I have enough time in 12 days to run up to Gold tier but I’d be happy to finish the season in the middle of Silver. Silver 3 would be a nice goal with tier 2 a stretch.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – This is the big new game of the month and while it’s single player right now, I would like to give this a decent run for the month. The problem is I am not really sure what the beginning of the game is like so I don’t really have target to shoot for. With that in mind I think part of my goal is just gonna have to be figuring out the layout of the game, how quests are tracked, and how progression occurs. I’ll have to keep this goal fluid for now until I see what I’m dealing with.
