Deciding on a Class for SWTOR: Smuggler?

I kinda feel like I’ve been bombarded with Star Wars these days and it’s got me thinking about giving SWTOR another run.

With Disney’s The Mandalorian, Marvel’s new High Republic comics, and the latest High Republic book I’m reading, I’m in the mood for gaming in a galaxy far, far away.

So I reinstalled SWTOR and saw that most of my characters are low level…the highest is 19, and many are ‘inactive’…time to make a new one.

Bananaslug here only made it to level 5 and from what I can tell, someone stole her name with the server merge so I’m gonna have to at least give her a new name.

Smugglers, though, are supposed to be pretty good healers which is a role I typically enjoy, so I might just go ahead with creating one of these.

  1. I never tried playing Smug as a healer. From what I’m told, for leveling you’re best off using one of the other lines for better dps (else the already kinda sloggy combat becomes even more of a chore) and have the healer line as an alternate you can swap to if you queue up for a dungeon.

That said, when I did my foray back in to SWTOR a year or 2 ago, nobody was doing dungeons except at level cap either, so there’s that too….

    • Yeah, I wonder what kind of response I’ll get when I want to try out the dungeons but I think I should be able to find a decent guild that will run through things with me.
