Civilization VI Succession Game Turns 370 to 380

I have really been negligent in getting this post out. It took me a while to finally get the game going and get my mindset back into Civ. Still, I finally made my moves, adjusted my culture, pushed my religion forward, and completely dominated science. The only issue was that not all that much happened during my 10 turns.

Current Situation

We start out in a good position.
We’re working towards launching a manned Moon landing as we push our science to establish the first Martian colony. Only Teddy Roosevelt and his American ingenuity are even contemplating such things here in 1950, but we’ve got a significant lead on them. I worry about spies, though.

On the cultural front, we’ve been gaining ground and have pushed our domestic tourism to new heights. The French are still the leader in tourism, but we’re catching up fast and hope to surpass them soon.

On the Religious side of things, English Buddhism is thriving. We haven’t brought any heathens under the sway of our peaceful beliefs, but our missionaries and apostles are roaming the land to bring outsiders to the true faith.

With Science dominance, Cultural ascendancy, and Religious vigor, we’ve been a gracious country that has allowed others to follow their way towards PAX Britannia at their own pace. Few have attempted to stand up to us and those that have learned a harsh lesson. Military dominance would be the easy way forward, but we chose to build up all mankind on the back of Great Britain.

Gilgamesh Comes Calling

This Gilgamesh guy seems to be the only thorn on our side. We pretty much have dominated him for centuries, but he is always going on to the world stage, denouncing us.

One of these days, we’ll have to put a stop to his annoyance, but for now, we remain peaceful. And as we do so, we complete our Nuclear Program Civic, and with that comes the opportunity to change governments.

We believe that the Democratic ideals that rule England should remain in force for the foreseeable future, though. With this in mind, we turn our attention to the pursuit of Capitalism to expand our influence economically in the world.

Friendly Nations

For the most part, things have been very peaceful and stable in the world. There was a short period where Hong Kong toyed with the notion of siding with American interests, but we quickly dissuaded them from that idea.

And to celebrate, London threw a celebration inviting all peoples to come to our incredible theatre to enjoy the wonders of British culture. We also began building a Commercial Hub in Plymouth to build up our mastery of economics. All in all, everything seems good in the world.

Rounding it Out

As our final steps before turning over leadership of the Great British Empire, we turned back to science.

We research Nanotechnology, which allows us to work on launching Mars hydroponics which will get us one step closer to colonizing another world.

We then turn our attention to improving our guidance systems since we see Gilgamesh moving forces around next to our borders. We certainly would not want him to catch us underprepared.

It’s a Wrap

So there you have it. We pretty much kept things status quo for our reign, and things were pretty peaceful. Gilgamesh is still talking a bunch of negativity in our direction but doing nothing, and the rest of the world seems to like us enough.

I’m confident the Great British Empire will reach space before I regain command of the ship of state, but I feel I’ve done my job for the people of England as best as I could.

God Save the Queen!

Hopefully Kanter is able to jump on board here. Sorry it’s taken so long but here is where the save game is located

  1. Huzzah! 😀 ‘Steady as she goes’ while we close in on the scientific victory is probably not an entirely bad thing. Indeed we’ll need to keep our eye on that Gilgamesh guy though.
