Fat Tuesday’s Hulk, Books, and Games

The first of March is here, and I am pretty surprised at how fast this year has been speeding by. Hopefully, I can keep up with my blogging, and with the number of things I’m looking at today, I can’t see that I’ll have problems finding stuff to write about…

The Rundown

  • Fat Tuesday
  • A New Hulk
  • Picking Matchups for MGM

  • DC’s new releases are here

The Goods

  • Fat Tuesday
Happy Fat Tuesday! With Lent starting tomorrow and Easter not too far down the road, it is getting closer and closer to actual Spring. I’ll be so happy to see the weather get a bit warmer – at least in the mid to high 60s.
  • A New Hulk
With Immortal Hulk coming to a close, a new version of Hulk is being penned by Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley, and once again, I’m on board to see where they take us. Hulk has become one of my favorite Marvel titles, so I’m hopeful this new team puts something together that is as good as Immortal Hulk.
  • Picking Matchups for MGM
Ok, I’m finally going to roll out my first matchups for my March Gaming Madness tournament. I’m looking forward to seeing how the RNG gods set things up for the 32 contests of the first round. Oh wait, I might as well throw in a Wild Card match as well.
  • Six Degrees of my Blogosphere
Jaedia over at Dragons and Whimsy lists off a bunch of books that are being published in March, so I took a look at some of the titles…of course, I’ve read a few of the authors, and actually one of the books itself. V.E Schwab wrote A Darker Shade of Magic a few years ago, which I enjoyed quite a bit. The Me You Love in the Dark by Skottie Young is a pretty good graphic novel that I actually read in floppy format, and of course, I’ve read John Scalzi. Please take a look at her post to see what these authors and others are releasing this month.
  • DC’s new releases are here
I’ve tried reading Lobo before but had some issues…today, DC is releasing Superman vs. Lobo #1, and I figure I’ll give it a chance since it’s ‘free’ on the DC service. The title I’m more interested in is the 3rd installment of Wonder Woman: Black & Gold anthology. I tend to enjoy the variety of stories that come with these anthologies, and the fact they’ve got some excellent authors always helps.

It’s a Wrap

With Marvel’s new releases on Monday and DC on Tuesday, I’ve always got a bunch of new comics to read, and my Blogosphere is constantly cranking out new stuff as well. It’s been so long since I commented on any blog in my Six Degrees, though, so I’m happy I remembered the segment.

My big focus today, though, is setting the matchups for the first group competitors in my March Gaming Madness, and I’m looking forward to seeing which of the 80 games in my selection pool make it into the different brackets.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a good Fat Tuesday as we head into Lent and prepare for Easter. Maybe this time around, we’ll finally get our first holiday where Covid isn’t the main topic of conversation.
