A new interesting addition to the ranked progression in League of Legends is that they have started, at least in bronze, to credit you with a victory when you fall from a higher lever to a lower level. Basically, if you were at Bronze IV and lost enough that you fell to Bronze V, you only need to win 1 game to get back to B4 when you get back into promos. And you get 2 chances to win that single game. This will definitely make progression easier.

I think this will go a long way to reducing the frustration of ELO hell that has plagued League for many seasons. I don't know how many times I got past a promo series last season where I had a winning streak only to see a couple of AFKs or trolls screw up my promotion. It always seemed that Riot would set me up for failure whenever the games really mattered. Between the trolls and AFKs I would get, I would always get into a promo series or have just won a series and then someone would AFK or I would end up having to play my worst role – ADC. I think between this new credit when you fall levels to help get back up and the new champ select, I feel real good about this season.

Even though they stuck me in Bronze 5 after I went 7-3 in my qualifiers.
