Learning Esper Abilities and a Sale of TSW

After spending some time admiring the planet Nexus from Gambler's Ruin, I realized that we were actually under attack – the Dominion were trying to shoot down the ship and I had to try to stop them.

The best way to do that was to learn more about what I could do as an Esper. The basic attack move is Telekinetic Strike.

Telekinetic Strike

This did minimal damage, and I realized it seemed to take at least 3 shots to kill even the most basic Sabotage Bot.

Well, maybe it only took 2 shots if I hit them properly. In any case, I liked the knives that shot out, but the setup and delay in firing seems to take forever sometimes. I need some attack speed or haste, if possible, so I can shoot faster.

Mind Burst

The other skill that I learned at this low level was Mind Burst.

This is a good closing spell to use as it builds up damage based on how many Psi points I have amassed. It's a bit shorter ranged than Telekinetic Strike, but it looks pretty impressive and is an instant cast spell.

This can really do some damage if you build up 5 psi points, but I've found that with Telekinetic Strike killing things in about 3 shots, I don't usually get up to 5 points unless I'm fighting a bunch of baddies. The good thing about both these spells is that they do damage to anyone in the area of effect (at least up to 5 baddies). This lets me hit a group of bad guys and smack them all around at the same time, many times (so far) killing them before they can even get to me.

With these two spells, I am set to take on the Dominion and try to prevent them from destroying Gambler's Ruin.

The Secret World Sale

I saw a tweet today with info about a sale on TSW.

Bundle Stars is offering the first 11 issues of The Secret World for 66% off which comes out to $20.39. That's a pretty great deal for a lot of content. I've already got all the issues (but haven't completed them all yet) so I'll not be getting the deal, but I encourage anyone who has a desire to play a cool, mysterious, creepy, Cthulu-type, modern MMO, to give this a try. It's a really great game.
