Subterranean Trout Army

Daily Ramble 227: Subterranean Trout Army

Today was a good day for rambling. I got to watch my Angels take the series in Seattle, I got to watch Westworld, and I got to read some more of One-Punch Man. It was all a blast and while I played some LOTRO and Frostpunk, I figured I could comment on those another day.

First Look at One-Punch Man Volume 01, Punch 4

Subterraneans of Darkness by ONE and Yusuke Murata. Published by Viz, 2014.

In this chapter, Saitama must take on a group of creatures calling themselves the Subterraneans. And they pissed him off by waking him up with their attack and destroying his home.

He surprises them with his resilience and when he has to fight so many, he actually exalts with the thrill of the fight. Of course he not only destroys the minions, he also defeats the Subterranean King.

It’s a good chapter that continues the development of the story and characterization of One-Punch Man. I’ll rate this one a B.

Series Win in Seattle

The Angels took the game yesterday 8–2 and with it took the series 2 games to 1. They really are playing better on the road than at home so it’s good they’re heading to Colorado next. They get today off but I’m hoping the offense continues it’s hot streak…particularly Mike Trout. He picked up my Player of the Game for an incredible defensive play when he nailed a perfect throw from center to third on a single by Gordon. It finished off Seattle’s 5th inning and then in the 6th, he launched a 3 run home run to secure the win. Ohtani picked up the win, his third, and with it, the Angels took back sole possession of first place in the AL West. It was a good trip to Seattle.

White Stripes in Westworld

I was so blown away when the 3rd episode of season 2, Virtù e Fortuna, opened in a Colonial India World with a sitar playing Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. This is one of my go-to songs when I workout and when I finish my meditation every morning.

I really love how they put orchestrated versions of popular and appropriate songs into every episode. This episode centered on Dolores gathering an army to fight off the human security force so as usual, the song fit.
