2019MMM Sweet 16 Results

Well I think my tournament chances are pretty much over. With the results of the Sweet 16 in, my pick to win it all has taken a fall. The Coyote & Badger teamup which features 2 animals that had made it to the Final Roar individually before, were defeated by the Banded Mongoose and Warthog. I guess I put my money on the wrong pig, having chosen the White-Lipped Peccary and watching it lose in the first round. Oh well, even without out a possibility of picking the champions, the 2019MMM is a lot of fun.

So here are the results of the Sweet 16…

The Moose advances over the Rakali which was kinda expected, but I am kinda surprised the Manatee is the 2nd victor from the Waterfalls division, though she did do a better job at surviving human interference than the Tapir.

In the Tag Team fights, I really got knocked for a whalop as my pick to win it all – the Coyote & Badger were out aggressed since they were in a happy satiated space having consumed the giant Capybara rodent from round 2. Having relatively empty stomachs, the Warthog and Mongoose wanted the victory more and they got it. Fortunately, my 2nd pick in the division, the Oxpecker & Zebra stood fast and took the win.

As for the Cat-e-Gory combatants, both water mammals took the win as the Sea Lion watches as the Tiger Owl gets stuck in an outhouse while the Spinner Dolphin has to deal with oil exploring ships as she tail strikes the Armadillo on the high seas…who’d have though an Armadillo would be out in the Bahamian waters so far…too bad for him.

Finally the last division of the tournament, the Jump, Jump division sees the Bengal Tiger advances against the Bharal, but who’d think a goat could take on a tiger? But in the biggest upset of the night, the Tiger Quoll fends off the Bearcat as the larger mammal decides to seek out a less ferocious meal.

The night was full of good battles and a few surprises but alas, I am pretty sure I’ll be winning not bracket challenges this year.

For the run down, take a look at the Rodent Recap…

Hope you did better than I did in your picks and continue to enjoy the 2019 March Mammal Madness!!!
