2019MMM Elite Trait Results

After my bracket was devastated as the tournament dragged through the Sweet Sixteen, I really didn’t have a dog in the fight anymore so to speak. Instead I’m just hanging around for the fun matchups and in the Elite Trait there are plenty to interest me.

In the Cat-e-Gory division we have the Sea Lion matched up against the Tiger a Quoll. I’m kinda surprised the Quoll made it this far having to fight the Nimravid and the Bearcat, but she was feisty and clever and overcame steep odds. Too bad her luck ran out against the Sea Lion though. While far from the ocean, the battle too place in Lake Tahoe where the poor Quoll is dragged to her death by the Sea Lion.

Another battle that was pretty much determined by the ecosystem was the Bengal Tiger and Spinner Dolphin match up. Among the trees in the Sandhills the Tiger takes a bite of the Dolphin as she soon takes her last breath thinking she would have won if the battle took place in water.

In the Waterfalls division we have an interesting battle. The Moose and Manatee aren’t really fighters but their pitted against each other in a Mangrove. The Manatee feels at home but that’s not necessarily a good things as she swims into a net only to be saved by a group of humans. In so doing though, they drag the sea cow outside of the arena and the Moose wins.

In the last battle of the night we actually get some serious action. The Zebra & Oxpecker takes on the Banded Mongoose & Warthog in a Thorn Forest in Southeastern India. The Zebra gets a few good kicks at the Warthog and actually breaks one of his tusks. Unfortunately the tusk sliced open the Zebra’s hoof pad and that’s not a good deal for the monochrome animal. As the Oxpecker tries to help out by ministering to the hoof, the Mongoose steps up and chases him off. The Mongoose wins and the hard headed Warthog stagers to his feet to advance to the Final Roar.

As expected the Elite Trait was a pretty good round. Sure, the environment played a role and once again we saw fan interference but the battles were hard fought and we’ve got some strong competitors advancing to the Final Roar.

Here’s the Rodent Recap…

The Moose takes on the Bengal Tiger and the Banded Mongoose & battered Warthog takes on the Sea Lion as we head into the Final Roar on Monday night.
