Hope for Little Bird and my Warden

LOTRO and Little Bird Focus on Hope

Today I jumped back into LOTRO and I realized its been quite a while. Apparently there has been an update to the game since I last entered Middle Earth and I had to figure out what to do with my Warden.

Along with starting back up I also took a look at a comic that I’ve been meaning to read. This past week I had Little Bird #3 in my Pull List but while it’s been rated highly by critics, I hadn’t given issue 1 a read. Today I decided to see what the talk was all about.

Little Warden Lost

Ok, so it’s been over a month since I dove into LOTRO and now that I stepped back onto the Legendary server I realized that it was even longer since I had played my Warden. Aikaterina is my Legendary Warden on the Anor server and she currently sits at level 15 in the Shire. I kinda got stuck there since I was enjoying my time working on the Ballad of Bingo Boffin and I had to wait for a timer to expire so I could continue one of the quests. That’s when I jumped onto the Ithil server and started a Minstrel who turned into my main for a while.

Unfortunately when I logged in to Aikaterina today, I was presented with the build screen. Apparently during my absence there was an update that reset all my class traits. Sure, I was only level 15 so I only had 5 points but I had selected between the Blue, Red, and Yellow trait lines.

Great! I had no memory of what I chose. And I am not one for simply choosing skills and traits on a whim. I usually do some research…so guess what…I spent the entire time I had set aside for playing my Warden trying to figure out what would be the best spec to level with. It’s not bad enough that I had to relearn the Gambit system but I just ran outta time.

Hopefully next time I’ll be able to start back up and get to leveling again.

Hope for the Resistance

Little Bird #1 The Fight for Elder’s Hope: Chapter One by Darcy Van Poelgeest, Ian Bertram, and Matt Hollingsworth. Published by Image Comics, 2019.

This is the start of an interesting limited series that blends the worlds of the past and future into a battle pitting a seemingly primitive resistance against an oppresive theocracy. In the middle of this fight, Little Bird is tasked by her mother to find and deliver a message to a man named The Axe.

The message is simple, Hope Exists.

The problem is, Little Bird’s village is decimated by the battle and there doesn’t appear to be any of her tribe left to fight. In any case, she finds The Axe in the enemy’s prison but he’s not really interested in helping out.

With battles that are well drawn and a struggle against all odds in the making, I rate this issue a Read and look forward to the next installment to see what possibility the primitive tribe has against it’s oppressors.

This comic can be found on Comixology or at your local comic book shop.

It’s a Wrap

Looking at these two activities today, I think it was a day of hope. Hope for the resistance in Little Bird and hope for relearning my Warden in Lord of the Rings Online. While I’m sure I’ll be able to figure out and set my class traits for Aikaterina I’m not so sure there is hope for the people of Little Bird as they take on the theocracy. Only through reading and adventuring will I be able to find out.
