Of Cons and Blaugust

Today is a day of anticipation. With Comic-Con starting on Wednesday I am getting things set up for a good Con. I also saw that with August in less than 15 days, the Blaugust blogging event will soon be upon us as well.

Both are fun activities I look forward to each year and the 2019 versions look to be just as enjoyable as previous iterations.

With all the preparations going on this week I’m gonna hold off on my next installment of The Rook Web Chronicle. I figure I’ll be back to normal next week and can publish my thoughts on chapter 8 on Tuesday

Preparations for Comic-Con 2019

I can’t believe it is almost here…only one more sleep and the 50th San Diego Comic-Con will be here!

I’m psyched and I think I’ve got things ready…I’ve got my parking passes, sun umbrella, walking shoes, I’ve ordered the merchandise, took a look at the schedule, got my sunscreen, and got a new hat.

The only thing I don’t have is my badge. Yup, I have to pick it up at the con since it got lost in the mail. Oh well at least I have a goal for Preview Night other than getting to the Tick booth.

If you’re headed to Comic-Con, I wish you luck and all the enjoyment in the world. I know I’ll be having a blast!

Blaugust is Coming…Again!

Belghast over at Tales of the Aggronaut has published his kickoff post for Blaugust and once again things look to be what I’ll called structured casual. Casual since there’s no push to see people killing themselves to publish 30 posts during the month, but structured in a good way that encourages posting around weekly themes.

There are already about 16 bloggers signed up in one capacity or another and I’ll be adding myself to that list soon. Head over to the signup page if you’re interested – we’ve got a Discord and Google spreadsheet with everyone listed to make it easier to track everyone and get their blogs into your RSS reader.

If you’ve ever thought about blogging or are just interested to see what it is all about, I highly encourage you to give it a go. This month of Blaugust is a lot of fun and the community really supports each other whether you’ve been blogging for years or just starting out.
