#Blaugust2019 the Second

Day one down and onto the second, Blaugustians are already producing tons of new content and I’m excited to see what everyone has to say. For me, day one was busy but I got some of the things I wanted to accomplish done. Today I hope to make even more successful and hopefully I’ll be able to get ahead of things for the rest of the month…we’ll see.

Really Getting To Apex House

Well things got busy yesterday and I was only able to get through part of chapter 11 that part, though spoke to the first actual physical meeting between Lady Linda Farrier and Myfanwy…not one in the dreamworld.

Today I’m gonna try to finish up my thoughts on the chapter and actually get to the meeting at Apex House. I think maybe I’m just setting the level of anticipation up a bit since we’re gonna get to meet the rest of the Checquy Court for the first time and see what they think about the information gathered from the interrogation in chapter 6.

Using TextAloud in my Blogging Workflow

One thing I always try to do before I publish anything is to listen to how it sounds. There’s a whole lot you can find out when you take something from the written page and actually hear it. (For instance, that transition between the last section and this one will serve as an example of something that sounds off). For this I use an app in iOS called TextAlound.

Six Degrees of Blaugust

I love Blaugust! And I love Blaugust for giving me lots of blogs to associate with and to expand the Six Degrees of my Blogosphere.

I haven’t played with my Six Degrees in a while and I know I have to update my listing on the right, but Blaugust gives me plenty of fodder. With all the new blogs and resurrected places I have lots of sites to visit and see how they connect to the rest of the world.

The first place I found to visit is a little blog calling itself Galumphing. Stroeb over there has been blogging for a while about World of Warcraft it seems but has decided to move into Eorzea and the realm of FFXIV.

According to his first post for Blaugust, Stroeb participated last year and I’m happy to see that he’s come back for more punishment. And it seems that punishment started with the 40gb download of FFXIV…I’ve certainly been there before.

Having just dipped his toe into FFXIV he’s still in the pre-character creation stage and I’m looking forward to seeing what server he chooses and his job. For myself, I’m in a bit of a dilemma for FFXIV since people I know are on the Cactuar server which is not accepting new characters, the Excalibur server which…wait a second, yesterday it was not accepting new characters and now it is…too bad I’m at work and can’t get a new character on there before the window closes, and on Goblin which seems to be open for new characters.

Regardless, this is a Six Degrees section, not an FFXIV post so I’ll point out that I’m very pleased to see that Stroeb has a blogroll on Galumphing so I’ll certainly add the site to my map of Six Degrees sites.

It’s a Wrap

Things were pretty crazy yesterday for the first day of Blaugust but I’m glad the event is upon us. I’m happy to start having some new sites to add into my Six Degrees mapping and I’m excited to see what Stroeb has to write about over at Galumphing. I’m fairly confident I’ll be able to finish off chapter 11 of The Rook today and as usual I’ll be using TextAloud to listen to this and the other posts I’m looking to publish so this looks like Blaugust Day 2 will be a success.
