The Extinction Machines, Part One
This is a pretty good start to a series that lays out a fairly complex problem with a mystery at the center and lots of questions to be answered.

We start with Wonder Woman in Eastern Europe amid a war, but that turns out to not be the focus of the issue. Instead, we see world-wide earthquakes causing disasters in Beijing, Atlantis, New York, and San Francisco. But we also learn that these are not the only things going on. People in these disaster areas seem to be falling under some spell that’s causing them to attack the heroes trying to save them – but there’s more.

Finally, we see some craft has landed in Gotham, and I’m starting to think this is the source of all the trouble.

With lots of well-drawn disaster scenes and panels full of devastation, Hitch and Daniel do an excellent job of presenting each of the heroes with challenges while demonstrating an ability to maintain each character’s personality.

I’m interested to see where this story is going and how the Justice League is gonna stop whatever is causing all the destruction.

Verdict

I rate this issue a Read and am curious to see how the League will save the day.
