2020 March Mammal Madness Championship

Tonight is the final battle of the 2020 March Mammal Madness tournament. While the ‘other’ March Madness was cancelled due to the China Flu, the March Mammal Madness continued on with some truly enjoyable competition. Tonight, it all wrapsup with the Championshipo bout.

Two heavyweights check in and both happen to be mammals. The Gorilla hails from the Double Trouble division and was the number one seed. The Brown Hyena comes from the Cat-ish vs. Dogs-ish division and was the #3 seed. Both fought some tough battles and both deserve to be in the Championship match.

This is also a competition between two mammals who have kinda been to the big dance before. In 2013, the Gorilla made it all the way to the Final Roar only to be thwarted by the Warthog. In 2014, the Spotted Hyena even won the won enchilada.

This year, the final battle takes place in the costal region of Northern Queensland Australia. Hopefully this is one part of Australia that wasn’t impacted by all the wildfires last year. Regardless, both the Gorilla and the Hyena are comfortable in the costal area so the ecosystem may not play as string a role in this battle.

But just as the two mammals are relatively calm in the costal serenity of Australia, so too is the Saltwater Crocodile. And as soon as the Gorilla spots the huge reptile, he lets out an alarming scream that scares off the Hyena.
