Is It Real This Time?

Ok…now I’m back from the dead…

I certainly hope so since I thought when I made my last Daily Ramble post in early November, I thought I was gonna jump back on the wagon and get rolling with new daily posts and all kinds of stuff.

I guess that didn’t really happen.

Part of the issue was that I had just spent a lot of energy getting WordPress to play nice with this blog again and the intense troubleshooting kinda burnt me out before I even got started posting again.

I’m hoping that now that things are a bit more under control, I can get rolling.

State of BTG

Okay, so things are not completely the way I want them.

Before I had my little crash and burn, I had things laid out pretty much the way I wanted them but now I’ve had to go and find a new Theme for the site. And it’s a Theme that I’m not too familiar with.

I’ve got some growing pains to go through to get things set up how I want them and hopefully that won’t take too much time and effort. After all, these Themes are supposed to be designed to make blogging as simple as possible.

So the bottom line is that I’ve got some housekeeping and maintenance to do to get BTG back to where I want it and hopefully that will be done soon.

Surprise

With my mind set on getting back into daily rambles and a plan to put BTG back into a configuration I like, of course, fate throws something at me.

Actually, it’s a good thing, and considering that so many horrible things have taken place during 2020, I am surprised to have a happy one so close to the end of what has turned into a pretty crazy year.

The bottom line is that I am happy to have received a new computer in the mail…kinda a Christmas present to myself.

It’s a new Alienware Area 51 and it should be plenty able to run all the new games out there while letting me develop software at a breakneck pace. Well, at least without memory issues and disk drive hang-ups.

So I feel like 2020 is ending on a positive note and am looking forward to using my new computer for the next few years.

Where Am I At

So with my plans to get back into blogging regularly and a new computer, my next step is to figure out where I’m at with content.

I haven’t been reading much…I haven’t been watching much with any coherent plan, I have been reading comics for my book club but that’s about it.

As for gaming, I’ve played some League of Legends, and some Wurm Online, but that’s about it. I poked my head into Eve the other day and I found that I’ve got an itch to scratch there. But I pretty much dropped my Out of the Park Baseball leagues, not that I can’t pick them up, I haven’t made any progress in LOTRO in a while, and as far as the Destiny 2 and WoW expansions, I’m never even finished off the previous installments.

So…I’ve got a lot of thinking to do as far as what I want to ramble about.

It’s a Wrap

All in all, I’m actually excited to be getting back to things.

I’m excited to see what new adventures await me in the gaming world. I’m excited to see how well my new computer works on the new generation of games as well as the good ‘ole games I’ve played so much of in the past…yup, I’ll have to refigure out how to set up LOTRO with a 4K monitor and I know that’s a headache. And I’m looking forward to getting back into reading and watching shows with a purpose.

I think, on the whole, I needed that break and am looking forward to getting things moving again.
