#2018MMM Championship Battle

Pygmy Hippo vs. Amebelodon

Today is all about the Championship of the 2018 March Mammal Madness and the winner…

The Pygmy Hippo fought long and hard and made it through some pretty difficult contests to come out on top. He certainly deserved to claim the prize!

Fighting through moles and rats, Devils and Cheetah, he made his way to the finals, even taking down a difficult Coyote foe in the Final Roar to make it to the end game.

And there he had to face what was probably his most difficult foe…the Amebelodon. This beast may currently be extinct but it sure fought hard in the tournament. But those hard fights also took their toll on him causing muscle tears and laceration damage to his trunk.

In the end all the injuries caught up with him and instead of pushing the Hippo around the big Elephant decided it would be best to lick his wounds and fight another day.

This is the big difference between March Mammal Madness and the NCAA March Madness…these animals put it all on the line and face the possibility of becoming a meal in their battles. None of the college performers have that worry to contend with, but many losers in the 2018MMM ended up in someone’s tummy.

So with that in mind while some competitors become lunch, other chose to look beyond the tournament and to valiantly pass on a fight to the death. It may seem cowardly but what is an herbivore to do when faced with a drooling carnivore?

In the end though, it was a battle of 2 plant eaters and one was just too wounded to keep going in the contest.

Congratulations to the Pygmy Hippo! You deserve this win!!!
