The Girls and The Spells

Sisters are doing it for Themselves

Gotham City Sirens #1 – Union by Paul Dini and Guillem March. Published by DC Comics, 2009. The girls are definitely back in town in this first issue as we get a team up with Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn. We’re also introduced to Boneblaster, a new thug on the scene who decides to mess with the women and one who might very well be reconsidering his choice of being a criminal in Gotham after this issue.
This looks like things are leading to what could be a very enjoyable story arc if not a longer series as I can’t wait to see how this trio of women tackle the streets of Gotham together. I give this issue a Must Read and am looking forward to the rest of the first volume.

Spell Layout Between Games

Usually I’m fine with playing a few different games at the same time but right now I find myself having to reassess my plans each time I log in. I’ve been running around in Middle Earth as a Minstrel while my Warden sits in Bree but the main competition for my attention is the Elder Scrolls Online. I’ve actually got 2 Wardens rolling in ESO – one focused on magica and a destruction staff (at least in these early levels) and one focused on stamina and a bow. The second is on the PS4 so things are even more confusing as I have to figure out the controller scheme – I can never seem to understand which button is the L2 and L1 buttons.

In any case, with the fact that all my characters in these games are around levels 10 to 15 I at least grateful that I don’t have a ton of spells to remember but I still get confused. Not between what one character can do and another, but between which spell sits on which key. About the only thing I have set up is that my #4 key is my best healing spell. I always make sure that’s the case so I have some good muscle memory when I need to save myself. I’ve slacked on my other buttons though and need to get back to a familiar pattern. I think the Warden in LOTRO messed me up a bit since there are 3 main keys to their gambits but it’s the sequence that really makes things happen for them.

Oh well, I am enjoying both games and think I’ll have everything worked out by this weekend. Hopefully then I’ll be able to get some decent leveling in so I can feel a sense of accomplishment rather than just sorta crawling along.
