Blaugust Day 2 and it’s Not Even August

Say Hello to the Newbies!

I love Blaugust because there’s always so much activity going on in the part of the blogosphere that I tend to hang out in.  It also brings new members to the community and I’m happy to see their contributions to the sandbox.  While August is still a couple days away I’m still in full Blaugust mode during this prep week and we’ve already seen a number of new bloggers show up on the scene.

Here are the brave new souls knocking on the door to our clubhouse:

Please greet them, shake their hands, comment on their posts, retweet their links, and welcome them into the community of bloggers.

Mind Mapping For The Win

Yesterday I took a look at a tool (Evernote) that I use everyday for not just blogging, but for everything, and today is no different.  Today I’m gonna take a look at Mind Mapping or Mindjet MindManager in particular and how I use it

Mind Maps have been a tool I’ve been using in paper or digital form for at least a decade and I only wish I had found them when I was going to school – things would have been so much simpler.

Infinity Train

The long-awaited series from Cartoon Network makes its debut at Comic-Con this year. Discover the first clues to unlocking the train’s mind-bending mysteries, involving talking Corgis, dour robots, puzzle doors, and perilous secrets. Plus, you’ll get an exclusive look at things no other fan has ever seen before! Cast members Ashley Johnson (Tulip), Jeremy Crutchley (Glad-One), Ernie Hudson (Atticus), Madeline Queripel (supervising director), and Owen Dennis (series creator and voice of Sad-One) will guide you through your inaugural trip aboard this arcane train.

I have to admit I had not heard about this show until I saw that it was in the Indigo Ballroom first thing on Saturday morning. Even with that information it would have meant nothing if I wasn’t planning out my schedule to see The Good Place later on in the day in the same room. Now, I’m glad fortune shined upon me and I got to learn about a show that I am excited to start watching once it comes out.

Usually for shows like Adventure Time or Rick and Morty I end up coming upon the show late…usually it’s Mrs. Redshirt who finds these gems and brings them to my attention. For once I might have something to show her!

Everything I saw in the panel looked impressive and promising. Apparently the series has been in the conceptualization phase for a while but then again how could they not have considered this an automatic success, I mean it has a talking corgi!!!

Now that I’ve seen the panel I’ve looked up the trailer to provide you all a peek at how cool this looks…

I hope it lives up to it’s promise.

New Release Monday

As usual, Marvel released their new additions to their Marvel Unlimited service today and I take a look at the new issues from January 23rd, 2019.

The Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing, Joe Bennet, and Ruy Jose continues it’s awesome run with issue #12 and while this title did not win the Eisner, it was nominated for Best Continuing Series. I’m enjoying this one a lot! Also released to Unlimited today is the new Guardians of the Galaxy written by Donny Cates and drawn by Geoff Shaw. Thanos is dead and the Infinity Wars are over so I’m sure Cates and Shaw have some interesting new areas of the universe to dive into. Finally, I wanted to highlight the second issue of Tom Taylor and Juan Cabal’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man since the first issue was such a fun jumping on point. Both issues are out on Marvel Unlimited and this one is even better than the first installment.

In any case, I’ll put up my listing of everything I saw that’s coming to Marvel Unlimited this week a bit later…

It’s a Wrap

So there you have it…A bunch of new rambling today with previews of more babbling to come. I’m really looking forward to reading what these new Blaugust Newbies have to offer in the blogosphere since every year we get new members and some great contributors. And hopefully my pointers yesterday about Evernote and later today about Mind Mapping might help them out in the long run and get them over the hump and into regular blogging.

For some reason I decided to highlight a couple of issues from the new Marvel Releases but I think these ones are a pretty good representation of why I enjoy Marvel Unlimited and why I feel I get my money’s worth every month.

And last but not least, I certainly hope that this Infinity Train will live up to the hype that it had at Comic-Con. The pieces I saw during the panel were imaginative and creative and the story seems to be pretty cool. Hopefully we actually do have a show that can fill the void left by Adventure Time ending.

Morning Ramble 19 | Blaugust Day 2 and it’s Not Even August

  1. Nice post! I’ll take a look at Infinity Train for sure once I’m done with Adventure Time! 🙂 Still need to watch more of that, ugh.
Oh, and btw I’m entering Blaugust as well for the first time 😀 Looking forward to working with you guys! 🙂

    • You should mention the fact that you’re new to Belghast in the Discord or at Tale of the Aggronaut so he can update the spreadsheet to show your status. It’s not extremely relevant but it’s nice to see who is new to the bloggoshpere. There’s really no difference between Newbie and Participant or Mentor for that matter considering I’ve been an active Participant since Blaugust started years ago but never considered myself a Mentor…I’m just too scatterbrained to take on the responsibility of calling myself a Mentor.

As for Adventure Time I’m thinking of giving the whole show another watch since the complexities of it are up there with Lost, Mr. Robot, and Game of Thrones.

    • I do tend to ramble about lots of things and they usually end up in a single post. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing SEO-wise or not but then I’m not here for Google, I’m here because I like rambling about stuff.

      Glad you’ve joined the community!
