The Road to Blaugust Day 4

One more day until Blaugust starts for real and I’m feeling the thrill of expectation. I’m pleased to see all the people who’ve signed up already and all the posts that have already made their way onto the interwebs. I wish everyone luck in their journey through Blaugust and hope you all meet your goals during the event.

For me, I’m looking to get back to rambling about gaming more. I already post nearly on a daily basis, whether that’s good or bad…I don’t know, but I feel like I’ve lost some of my roots in that I haven’t been rambling about gaming much lately. Comic Reviews and Web Chronicles about books are fun to talk about but I’d like to use Blaugust to get back into regularly rambling about gaming.

That’s my main goal this month and I encourage you all to think about what your goals are for the month. That way when the Blaugust event is over for 2019 you can bath in the glory of successfully finishing the quest line and slaying your goals.

Using Drafts In my Blogging Workflow

Over the past few days I’ve mentioned a few of the tools I use on a regular basis for blogging and today I’m gonna take a look at an iOS app called Drafts.

While I use Evernote to capture ideas and get things started, MindManager to outline, map, and brainstorm my posts, and Scrivner to get down to the details of writing the sections of a post, I use Drafts to work up the final draft.

I’ll ramble a bit more about it later as I finalize my thoughts (in Drafts) on the post.

Wednesday Pull List

I already mentioned the Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe new releases for the week and Wednesday is new comic book day for actual new comics (not issues that are 6+ months old). With that in mind, I try to put together a pull list each week with the comics I’m looking forward to reading or at least putting on my back log. Yeah, my back log of reading is at least as long as my gaming back log but at least comics don’t take as long as games to get through.

In this week’s pull list I am adding the rest of the Kree-Skrull War found in Avengers #89 through 97, I’m also looking at the origin of Luke Cage in Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #1 so I think if I get to these this week, I’ll be real happy.

I’m starting fall a bit behind in my DC Rebirth reading so I’m gonna only pull Batman #7 to get my feet wet in the Night of the Monster Men and I’m hoping this will let me catch up a bit and maybe even read through all my Rebirth backlog to this point…I’ve got 31 issues to catch up on so it’s doubtful but I can hope…lol.

This week also will include a pull of Deadly Class volume 3. I’m so disappointed the show was canceled – since it was so much fun, but at least I’ve still got comics to read. Perhaps some streaming service will pick it up and get it going again.

It’s a Wrap

I just wanted to wish everyone who’s participating in Blaugust luck during the event and hope you all have fun. That’s really the most important part, have fun and enjoy yourself.
