A Slow Day of Reading and Running

Yesterday was a relatively laid-back day, and I was only able to get to a couple of my goodies…

The Rundown

  • The Gleeman
  • Next up…the Pier

The Goods

A Gleeful Chapter Four

After the peddler last chapter, this chapter focuses on Thom Merrilin. He shows off his dexterous abilities to Matt, Rand, and company and dazzles them with some of the tales he recounts during his various shows. He really is a character, and everyone seems to be enthralled…at least until Moiraine and LAN show up. Thom seems a bit wary of the two other ‘strangers’ to Edmond’s Field, but they all seem to get along well enough.

People seem to be gathering in the town, and there’s a sense that danger is on it’s way, so while there are discussions among the town council to post sentries around the area, Tam and Rand head back to secure the farm before coming back for the festival.

San Clemente Pier

With a quick stop at the San Mateo Campgrounds yesterday, today, I head back to the water and the San Clemente Pier. This is a nice little pier that I’ve actually visited a few times in person. San Clemente has always been a fun destination, and the fact that it is nicely between San Diego and Orange County makes it a great place to stop over for a rest break during a drive.

It’s a Wrap

I don’t feel bad only getting to a couple of things. Instead, I feel good that I was able to put together a post at all and comment a bit on what I have been up to. I’m enjoying my reread of The Eye of the World, and my running is always a great experience.

Overall, today was a good day, and I hope you all had an interesting and enjoyable day as well.
