Inquisitors, Witchers, and Angels

Today kicks off a nice three-day weekend that I am looking forward to. I am hoping to get some time playing my Beorning and maybe working on this blog and my FSE project.

The Rundown

First off, here are a few things of interest for today…

  • Witcher in the Lead

With one quarter remaining, The Witcher has come back and taken the lead in their battle of 8 versus 9th seed. Champions Online has been putting up a good fight, but The Witcher has had the advantage in each of the quarters because it is just a better game. With one, The Witcher leads by 3, and it’s looking like the early Champions Online success was a fluke. We’ll see today if The Witcher moves on to the second round.

  • The Inquisitors are after Kenobi

I think the Inquisitors are a good addition to the mainstream Star Wars story. While they’ve been around in animation, comics, and novels for years, it’s good to see them show up in live-action shows. And with them chasing Kenobi, I think it will make for some good battles. Kenobi is more than a match for them, but the other remaining Jedi might have some difficulties with these hunters. In addition to good battles, I think the introduction of the Inquisitors is pushing Kenobi closer to the Mandalorian in terms of greatness and further away from the Book of Boba Fett. I certainly hope so.

  • Looking for Relief

The Angels are in dire need of some relief pitching. The bullpen, which was a strong point a couple of weeks ago, is struggling to hold on to games. Only a week ago, when Maddon would call to the bullpen, I’d expect the game to be locked down. Now we are seeing a reprise of the troubles we’ve had for the past few seasons – a relief core that can’t hold a lead. Where did all the money go that we spent this offseason – I thought we got bullpen help instead of starters because they could be used more often – maybe that was the wrong strategy.

The Goods

Not much for my main event today other than a desire to get back into playing LOTRO. I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t been able to throw much time towards my Beorning. Too bad since I have enjoyed him when I’ve had the chance to play. I’m sure I’ll grab an opportunity to play him this weekend since I get Memorial Day off.

My other plan for the weekend is to spend some time looking at my staging site to see if I can add some features for the Full Site Block Editing this weekend and try to get the FSE build to look like my current site. I figure if I can make things look the same, it’ll be easier to swap to the FSE site, and then I can start rolling updates in as I add them to staging.

I suppose one thing that is directing me in the blog editing direction is the fact that my site updated to WordPress 6.0 this week. Fortunately, everything works well, but I was unaware it was gonna update in the middle of the week without any input from me. I guess that might be a sign to put some effort in that direction.

It’s a Wrap

I’m really starting to get bummed out about my Angels’ troubles. They are a much better team than they have been playing as, and I hate to see strong efforts by Trout and Ohtani go to waste. Hopefully, the relief pitching can start to turn around.

In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
