Seven Against the Nazis

Sgt. Fury And His Howling Commandos #1 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Published by Marvel Comics, 1963. Meet the seven commandos who take on and take out the Hitler’s evil empire. In this initial issue, we’re introduced Sgt. Fury and the 6 G.I.s that fight beside him as they rush into France just prior to D-Day. Evil Nazis have captured the leader of the French resistance and they need to get him back before he divulges information about the biggest day of the war – D-Day.
This was a fun read and it was action-packed as the team no only fights to get into France but then fights to get out. Dum Dum Dugan, Dino Manelli, Gabe Jones, Rebel Ralston, Izzy Cohen, and Junior Juniper all make huge contributions as the they put the fear of the Commandos in the Nazis and save the day. I give this issue a Must Read not only because everyone is introduced in this issue but the story is good as well. I can see this series developing some good characters.

Respecing Before Strider

So as I mentioned the other day, I was putting the Ballad of Bingo Boffin aside for the moment as I headed off the Bree and The Prancing Pony to see what tasks Strider had for me. Before I could go though, I had to figure out what was up with abilities. Somehow I was missing a spell or two and I really recognized it since one of the missing skills was the one my 1 key…I kinda used it in every fight. The Ballad didn’t have many combat quests so it wasn’t a problem when I finished them off, but heading to meet Stride had me worried I’d be getting into some serious combat soon.
It turns out there was a recent patch that reset talent points. With my talents gone, I lost abilities and hence was missing my #1 ability. Fortunately my talent respec was pretty easy since I was only level 15. Only 5 points and since I’m leveling I went with the red line to increase my DPS. One point to Concussive Shout and 4 to Critical Strikes and I was set.
Off to Bree and my fateful meeting with Strider.
