Near Perfect, Announcement, and Survival

Daily Ramble 199: Near Perfect, Announcement, and Survival

I’ve got a bit of rambling from all over the place today as the Angels win the series finale against the Athletics and Blizzard announces when we’ll all be able to play the Battle for Azeroth. I also worked on more of the military career path missions and nearly had a ship shot out from under me.

Warcraft – Battle For Azeroth Release Date

The release date for the World of Warcraft expansion has finally been announced…August 14, 2018. The Battle For Azeroth is coming fast and as usual, I am finally getting an itch to play catch up in WoW.

I’m not really sure what the motivation has been that makes me put off leveling during the early days of the recent WoW expansions, but once again it’s only months before the next expansion that I really feel like working on the game.

So basically, I’ve got a lot of leveling to do…I’m only level 101 with my main and I’d even thought about starting up an alt of one of the new races…perhaps I’ll see what I can do on my main and perform more of that alt grind after the expansion.

Nearly Lost My Venture

As is commonly the phrase in Eve Online, never leave a station with a ship you cant afford to lose. I typically leave a station with the expectation that I will need a new ship when I get back, but with these early career path missions things have been pretty safe so far.

That is until I ran through the last few missions of the Military Career agent.

I was still running the missions in my Venture even though I could have used a more advanced ship but it was working pretty well for me. I even put a shield extender on it to give me some extra breathing room for tougher fights. But no fight was as touch and go as the “Cash Flow for Capsuleers” #8. In this one I warped into a dead space location and headed towards a hotel but as soon as I got close, a bomb went off that nearly wiped me out. Even with the added shields provided by the extender, I had armor damage.

I quickly turned on my Armor Repairer to start healing up and launched my drones to take on the pirates that showed up trying to finish me off. The fight lasted a bit and I even had to use my afterburner to fly a bit out of range for a bit, but my drones whittled down the waves of bad guys and I was able to complete the mission.

Close, but I survived!

I’m thinking I might retire this Venture after I graduate from the career missions and save it as a momento.

Shohei does it on the Mound

Wow!

12 strike outs, 7 innings, and another win and Shohei is showing he belongs in the top tier of major league pitchers. He even had a perfect game going through 6 innings.

This was a fun game to watch and he clearly deserves my Player of the Game. But it was also good to see Trout break out of his little slump. He was in a downturn, going 0 for 14, and snapped it with a home run in the 3rd.

With both Ohtani and Trout playing well, the team heads off to Texas for their first series against the Rangers in 2018.
